We should have away to know other O.F.F members, it would be nice to talk to some you of you guys in person. I am trying really hard to get the wife to let me go with my son.

Hope the event turns out to be a great success.

ya that link leaves a lot to be desired. no pre registration, no phone number to call, etc etc.

WIll still be fun to take the lil ones out for the day. looks like 3 of 6 weigh in stations are in or near pier 8.

1 Pier 8 – Hamiltonian Dock (?)
2 HWT Centre – North Side ( past where the roller rink is)/

3 Marine Police Basin (to your left when you first go into pier 8 ""i think?")

4 Bayfront Park Boat Launch (right off the parking lot where the dragon boats usually are )
5 Fishway on Waterfront Trail ( this is the carp gate under the 403 bridge before cootes paradise)
6 LaSalle Park Boat Launch (to the left as you go into the parking lot. lasalle is at the end of waterdown rd.)

other than it starts at 8 and ends at noon.. i have no other info on registration or where to go ***shrugs
DOSENT IT END AT MIDNIGHT 12PM ?? oops my bad caps

When we land a fish, are we required to bring it to the station in an aerator cooler or something?
It is catch and release. Do what you have to do to see that the fish is returned in good shape.

There is no pre registration. Just show up , fish, get your catch measured , and wait for the results. You can fish anywhere in the harbour but most fish from shore, close to one of the stations.

There will be a measuring station there.

My nephew and his friend caught 2 bass. We only stayed there about 2 hours in the police harbour by pier 8.It got too crowded and tooo many people casting across 4 to 5 lines... was tooo frustrating untaggling lines. So we went to the pond near my place to catch a few more bass with the kids. I was impressed with the quality of the free rods the kids under 12 got. Was a good time but like i said too crowded.

Pier 8 was a lot less crowded. I pre baited a good sized section with corn for the carp but a lot of different species were caught including one large mouth.

I was manning the station on pier 8. It was fun watching anglers of all ages come up to get their catch recorded. The kids eyes really went wide when they saw the carp. Which were many times the size of the little guys they are used to catching.

That's alot less crowded!? Image where ff was fishing! Those people are stacked up in there! Lol

Here's a lil pic of what it looked like before it got crazy crowded. Was about an hour after this pic and 3 (4 to 5 line tangles) cause by the same person. That we left.

I baited that area up too. I put 10 lbs of trout chow and layer crumble ( chicken feed ) in there over three days.

Hey hammercarp. Although I spent the day feeding Turtles, I would love to see the winners and results when they come in if you don't mind posting.
