So this Friday, I'm heading towards high park to see the conditions of the pond. The last time I went was 2 weeks ago and it still had some ice. I had no luck, skunked.

Since the weather is warm now, I'm assuming crappies are starting to spawn. I received a ultralight quantum 4 piece rod kit for my birthday and I'm going to put it to use tomorrow :) Hopefully I'll have a report and maybe some pictures.

Has anyone tried Grenaider Pond recently?

Yea scarce fishing for sure. Last summer I've caught tons of panfish but I always see a regular asian man who tends to keep a lot of them whenever I go. I used to go like 3-4 times a week and see him there always. I've witness 2 people catching LM Bass and they were huge. Unfortunately, the anglers couldn't land it all into their hands, the bass put up a good fight and got away.

Yeps, really rare! And also, theres a sign that tells you not to fish for bass or pike because of imbalance of panfishes taking over the pond. And If you do catch either one, you'll have to release it back.

Wow, thats insane LOL. i guess i will have to go down there one of these days and see if i can catch more bass/pike than pan fish :).

Thats unusual, most of the time pike will eat everything in a pond. In most cases panfish don't stand a chance. the end result will be huge pike monsters and they multiply like crazy.

There is a pond in Brampton that has pike. It's crazy because it's a small pond, yet there are big pike in there. It used to be loaded with bass, then somehow pike got into it. There are still bass and panfish in the pond but I'm not sure if the bass are there in the same numbers as before the pike got into the pond.

I'm so mad! I had to go to school today and hand in my projects, but I ended up doing them over again and I missed out on fishing today. However, I will be fishing tomorrow!

Which pond is it?

I think it's better if you don't say the name of the pond. If you have access to the GTA section you can see how a small pond in vaughan went from having a huge number of bass to people keeping any little thing they could catch.

I went to grenadier pond on thursday with the mrs. and nothing was there. Although we were mostly after carp and perch, nothing bit. We used corn, bubble gum, sour patch kids, all to no luck. Not sure if maybe i wasn't in the right spots but it seemed like nobody else was catching anything either. There was one old guy who was ecstatic he caught a 6 inch perch. All i can say is weak sauce.

How long did you try, worms always gives you bites.

High Park is horrible, best I managed was a few sunfish off the dock. Some dude was using cutbait from some store bought fish, probably from china town, and was constantly catching them.
