How swollen will Grand or Welland River be after this rain?

I am thinking of trying out the Grand near Brantford or Welland near Chippawa CA by inflatable with 30lb trolling motor on Sept. 11th.

As I type this, it is raining and has been for a few hours, as you might have noticed.

The rivers won't be wadeable tomorrow but both these rivers in the areas I mentioned are pretty calm waters under normal circumstances. What do you think it would be like after this rain considering my setup?

Could it really be raging? I don't want to drive all that way only to turn around. Now if I go to the Welland, I can always try the small lake in the CA there, which I did last summer, but it's really small and I'd rather try the Welland for the first time ever and I might not get another chance this year.

I was over at the Grand yesterday just as the rain got started between 6 and 7. By 8pm, even the west side trib mouth where I was at began to blow up. I usually double check the grand river conservation page here and that hockey stick curve shows today's level might be way up.

Chippawa park is my summber playground! It's a lake so it probably wouldn't get too blown, plus it's already murkey water even in the mid summber droughts. Just a few weeks ago I pulled up a largie that had to 5 or 6 lbs. It was definitely my PB and I can't believe such a good fish could come out of a lake that small. I have pics of it. I just hop a plastic frog over the lily pads and your goal is to, while reeling in, place your frog in every single hole between the lily pads. Just let the frog sit there for 15 to 30 seconds and then continue your slow retrieve to the next pocket.

Thx for the info. Good sites.

I decided not to go since the wind is howling too. Perhaps tmrw.

I like the pads on that little lake. Nice going on the catch. When I have several hours to fish I like to work bigger lakes preferably.

Insanely high right now.. 183cm/s in cambridge right now 171cm/s in brantford. Good to get some runs going.

Gonna go check out a trib to see if any made it up yet this afternoon.

This week, I talked to some locals at one west side trib and got some good info. ;)

grand river is mud soup today! very high fast and dirty! will take a few days to come back down to normal.. seen it in Paris this morning almost as high as the dam.. im sure a few bows could make to jump over the Paris dam if the water stays this high for a day or two!!

West side? Lol. Not sure where you mean. Paris down is where I wet my line for em. But I'll check out my local trib and let you guys know how it goes. I'm sure a run has made it up by now. Gonna toss some egg patterns and see what I can come up with.
