So as the forum has been kinda dead as of late, I thought I would post a thread where people can show off there ice fishing catches so far. Unfortunately for me only I've only been out twice and have only caught a handful of perch, so nothing picture worthy.

First trip out to Simcoe last week resulted in a bunch of these guys.

Hopefully some lakers on the menu tomorrow.

I was in about 86', deepest area in that part of the lake. Other guys were getting em close by in 50' too.

I think the forums are declining in general maybe because of the growing popularity of the facebook groups

Anyways here's a eye from the other week, bout 30"

Completely defeated. Two days on Simcoe this weekend and all I had to show for it was one lost fish. I feel a bit better knowing that some anglers with much more experience than me ended up with the same outcome. But it is still a hard pill to swallow with every muscle in my body recovering and nothing to show for it!

Back at it next weekend, might have to check out some spots I normally save until later in the season.

Nado:yesterday was slow for simcoe all I got was an 8 lb laker and a whitie, a few small Lakers and herring but other than that, I just lost some, lots of fish coming around but very few wiling to hit. Hopefully it will pick up soon, last weekend was much better, that's for sure.

I heard in certain areas they were killing them. Double digits. Simcoe is a largr system and sometimes surprises you.

Sweet! I must've watched that video about 10 times.

It's cool seeing the bite on your rod.

Whats your setup for perch?
Thanks bud. Minnows are always deadly but I was using a Rapala Shiner Jigging lure with a minnow on the treble hook in that video. I use it for added scent. Always effective for Perch. And keeps em around when food is about. Caught lots of em that had minnows in their mouth when I was just using the lure with no minnow on it. Or i cut the head off a minnow and attach it to the hook at the head for added scent.
