Last weekend i noticed my line kept getting stuck a bit on the bottom guide and brought it closer to inspect and found the issue below in the pic. So i emailed shakespeare customer service with the details they ask for (picture of the issue; receipt; contact info; address) and they say they'll get a hold of you.

I sent my email on the 17th and didn't hear anything back until today.

I got an email thanking me for the excellent documentation of the issue, and a replacement rod is already on its way. Pretty friggin painless process so thought i'd share that with you all!

Now to see if i can figure out how to replace the guide, and then I'd have two rods! I thought they'd ask for this one back or something, but nope.. just "here's a new rod!"

you can fix that with needle file and brush em up with lacquer thinner.

there is a chart of which guides you can use with braid. the US lite version is not one of them. :(

Thanks for the heads up, Lure. I had no idea what to even look for to fixing it.. thought they would recommend something but they just shipped a replacement instead. Works for me.. *shrug*

Klik: No braid was used on that one. Just straight mono. I'll keep that in mind going forward though! Thanks for the tip.

Okuma is pretty good too. I broke mine on a pike...sent it to the Okuma shop in Huntsville with no receipt. 2 weeks later I got a brand new tip :)
