Was Sunday cold or was it just me???
What warmed me up, seeing my float get sucked under the surface and feeling that tell tale sign of first run steel. Although I'm sure my month and a half off season played some toll on a few fish broken off and a few lost, I was still beyond thrilled to land 4 out of 8. Between three of us 11 fish were successfully landed.
The basics, three on roe, one on a small white hackle-less bead headed bugger (I love getting steel on home tied flies). River conditions were 75% perfect, with the water being slightly high, I came to the conclusion most fish were just holding briefly and moving on with green tea colored water to hide them. Anyways. Some pics are mandatory.
And my new favorite spot, fishing a pool 15 yards from lake Ontario, no harbor, no smoke stacks, no highway, just tranquility.
