Lake Scugog

Hey guys, I just recently bought an inflatable boat from wal-mart and planning to head to lake scugog for some LM bass. Has anyone been there lately? Any good spots to start? I don't have a motor so I can't get that far into the water. Thanks in advance! I will definitely update you guys on how it went.

Head to the boat launch at the center of the lake (From port perry, cross the causeway and make the first left you see. head all the way to the end into the dirt road)
its free parking and not as congested as the boat launch in port perry itself. That way you can take your time launching without feeling rushed. From there, you can fish around the brushes and lilly pads along both sides, ive seen (while shore fishing right at the boat launch) a few people with inflatable boats land a few respectable sized fish (i couldn't tell what type of fish it was from where i was standing but it was atleast 13'' it look kinda like a musky or trout but i dont think scugog has trout)

If you get a motor , you can head north, north east towards the creek and have a go there. Last weekend a buddy landed 2 decent ones within 20 minutes with a crankbait, be warned it is REALLY weedy in that area, 99% of the casts were weed riddled but it was definitely worth it.

My inflatable boat just came in so you might see me out there some time.

Thanks for the input Sillylion, I launced at port perry and fished along the west side of the lake. I caught 4 fish altogether from which 2 were less than a pound and the other two were HOGS close to 4-5 pounds. I will definitely will be going back to Scugog.

I caught bass at Lake Scugog as well, also got a HOG too! As seen in picture. Tried to go for Walleye/pickeral but couldn't find any and ended up catching more LMB instead...

Scugog has Bass, Walleye, Crappie, Musky, Perch, Sunfish, Rockbass, Carp (might have all died out from virus), Catfish (might have all died too)... I don't think there are Trout in there.
