Congradulations.

You know, I have 2 myself.. A daughter who is six, and a son whos going on 4.

Some people say life is over when you have kids. I disagree. Its just beginning.

awwwwwww! that's soooo sweet! i'm glad to hear you say that =)
i think life gets more interesting and exciting with children around
i hope to have kids one day too, hopefully within the next 6-7 years, and i intend to enjoy every second of it =)

i'm not sure about the rest of you but i grew up in markham and i think because of it, i'm more easily 'colour blind' due to the multiculturalism. i love it.

Thanks chibi,
im super excited looking forward to a fishing partner, girl/boy doesnt matter. due date is approx dec 25, so i think maybe 3 years max before im going to be really teaching him/her anything but I cant wait.

i guess i'm biased but girls are better :D

Thanks everyone for the congrats,
Yes im super excited and even the wife is going crazy now trying to plan everything. I hope to have two eventualy, a boy and a girl would be awesome, but either way im good as long as their healthy. I bought a sweet set of clothes from the Bass Pro Shop for him, and if its a her, i'll just have to go back, lol. And yes I think that having kids is the start of something new altogether, I mean this is something that your responsible for and ultimately if their crap at fishing you have no one to blame but yourself, lol.
Thanks again to all, greatly appreciated.
Chris

Congratulations McLean boy/girl it does not matter if you spend the time with them and share your love for fishing with them it will be something they will remember for the rest of their life. I know in my family it was my Grandfather who passed on the hobby to my father who in turn passed it on to me and my sister and even got my mother into the act and I will sure be spending some quality time with my 2 boys and teaching them to fish as well. My 6 year old already learned how to cast a spinning real he is no master at it but he is learning. The 18 month old still needs to grow a bit before we get him started.

Thats awesome pogon02.
I cant wait, and every day im getting more and more excited. I just finished moving into a larger place to accomodate my puppy, and the baby, and thatnkfully i have a great little workshop now and can have some time to do some serious fishing preporating. I think fishing is an awesome thing to teach kids, you can relate alot of things to it, and the things it teaches them are amazing, independence, hard work, and even patience.
I'm sorry I havent been around much guys but my weekend was crammed between moving and unpacking, but I did get an awesoem couple of hours in on the grand river and it was an amazing time. Im going again on saturday and if anyone would like to join me let me know, or pm me anytime.
