clarus and sheffield is a good bush beater for sure and actually very light. spool it with 10lb or you will have trouble with line behind the spool. i have this same setup and may be selling it pm if interested.

Hey, I went to Caledonia 2 days ago and dropped by the bait and tackle store to buy some floaters. in the reels section they have a selection of centerpins on sale. they have the sheffield for $169 and different models of aventa for less than that..there is also a raven for around 200...not bad considering the big stores prices. they also carry other brands but can't recall all the models. maybe you can go for a spin if it is close to you and can also baptize the reel on the grand at the same time ;-)

I just picked up an Okuma aventa and 13' amundson float rod and am loving it. For 200$ you can't go wrong for a first float-setup.

Must be the bushing model? Id definitely step it up and go to the bearing model.

Navarium its not too late, you might as well upgrade to abec 7's or something and tell everyone u bought the bushings model so u could upgrade to high end bearings lol.

No, you got a pretty good deal if you bought it 4-5 months ago because they started off at $400 +

I guess you are right. Just wish I was right handed though. This question should be on my other thread, but can I do all the different cast if my line was coming out from the top of the reel as opposed to the bottom as it should be?

Okuma has a new rod out? Last I checked they only had the Aventa.

This is also okuma Dr11.
