they sure do slam spoons, I had an insane hit off of a small berkly minnow drifted under a float. float dropped and rod doubled over the same instant

my hands took the damage lol. Line burn from the crazy runs the fish take, cramps from palming the reel....but its always worth it! :) haha

i'd say i got more small steels on roe with bobber or not. and hardware i get bigger ones. i don't know the science of it but it just an observation. and i got browns on spinners more than anything else.

Bunch good lookin fish there fishing89, i'm hopin to hit up the credit in the next couple weeks, hopefully i'll have your luck ha ha.

Yup that's accurate! From my experience the biggest fish in a pool are often the first to attack wobbling body baits. I find that roe & trout beads will catch many different sizes of fish.

hey rainbow, do you use a swivel when you're using tots? i will be working a trib tomorrow strictly hardware. tots, spinners and minnow jigs.

nice catches. I lost one tot yday and got skunked all day as i don't have roe and was using beads. today I lost #0 black fury. what lb. test was your line btw?
while roe is pretty much unbeatable in the fall and winter months there comes a point in the spring when the fish will turn off of it somewhat. Not saying it wont get you fish but I catch more in the spring time on dew worms, single eggs, stone flies etc

Great pics!!!

Just going back to the discussion on line, this weekend my fiance and I both fished with Berkley 6lbs test white line. This was a first for us. In the past we have used 8lbs mains and 6lbs leaders that are both green in color.

I can report I am was pleasantly suprised. I didnt want to tie a leader on our sets ups and see what would happen. I can report we did manger to hook into many fish I would say about 30 or so over teh 2 days we were there, the ones we did loose were the hook popping out or the knot comming loose. Not once did the line snap! I managed to land a 21lbs male on this line, we snapped our pictures with it revived it and released it.

I am going to try to post some pictures as to our weekend, however you are more than welcome to add me on facebook, there are a ton on there.

First cast on my spoon, with NEW 6lb fluro leader plus using a new knot ( palomar ) I hit a huge dark male, he ran far...after about 1 minute of him leaping and dancing the line broke off RIGHT AT THE KNOT! again, Im thinking that for those hungry trout that are hitting my spoons, I need 8lb MONO lol im losing so much hardware.

Switched to single beads further north upriver and landed two nice small ones, on for eating and one female full of roe for release :)
