Professors lake in august

Well...if you're in Brampton and don't want to travel far, there is Loafer's Lake on Conestoga.

It is a water runoff pond to my understanding, but I find It is surprising, that they have Smallmouth (confirmed catch - about 1.5 lbs this season), Crappie, Koi and sunfish.

Apparently there are other species, but I have not been able to confirm first hand.

Shore fishing only and it's quite weedy in most spots.

Powerbait worked for Bass and Crappies.
Minnows worked for Bass
Worms pulled the Sunnies out of the woodwork.

I went there this afternoon...but only had 20mins and got skunked.

Drop_Shot,

I'm wondering, I check the following site and the various maps links of hits:

Are they within the conservation park? Or are these areas outside? Just wondering - re: Park Entrance fees

Thanks!
i've only been to the CA on that side of the reservoir once and didn't see any fishing. standing on the docks it looked like to me there was practically no life in that water.

the other side of the tracks is where the fishing is but to get to that side you have to leave the CA and drive around the whole property. you'll see on google maps. that's where the boat launch is and parking lot for fishing. there it is $12 per car i believe to park there and fish. it's a drop box so you need exact change. i have seen them come by and check cars once.

now i know a lot of people who do fish from the tracks did come in from that parking lot but i'm not sure if the tracks are accessible from the CA side.

I was shocked to catch a pretty bad a** catfish at Professors the other day.
It was at night so I couldn't get a picture tho :(

Fished there for years and this was the first time I've seen one in that water.
