I'm going salmon fishing in a couple weeks, and just want to know type of line to use/how much of it/and what strength...i'm gonna be going to nottawasaga if this makes a difference to the set up i should use, any help would be awesome.

10lb mono is good enough for me I land fish pretty fast on that unless its a beast and running back to lake O LoL

20lb line is overkill. I would use 10lb Trilene XT. You will be able to cast farther and improve your chances overall when fishing open water.

For rivers I would carry a variety of flashy plugs that wobble for starters. Not too large with the lures though for the rivers.

A long rod will prove useful when fishing rivers. Good luck!

The Only Person I Know Who Fishes With Lures (espeicially plugs and wobblers) in the river is he who shall not be named....

10 to 12 for the notty is plenty, I use Ande. Everyone is into these new lines, I don't see why there was nothing wrong with Ande and its way cheaper lol works great in the winter too. really holds its strength. By then stick to drifting roe with a float set up or even bottom bouncing.

Fish the notty quite often if you have any other questions PM me, I will see if I can help
Mike
