lol ok I didn't know it was different for piers! :razz: Thank You CanadianJoeR1 that was just the info I needed for the exact harbour i needed. I'm happy now I get to put everyones advice into action.

I fished my favourite pier on a West Trib (since I grew up there) and again left without a hit... I only managed from about 6:45 (traffic!!!) to 7:30am this morning. I spoke with a gentleman who had been there a few hours fishing roe-bags without any luck.

Nowhere near as much action as in previous visits two weeks ago. Surface action certainly increased right as the clouds started to part and let the sun out, exactly when I had to leave! I hope the father/son combo across the way got a hit as there was sustained surface action about 10m in front of them, right where the mud-line usually is.

Most of the boats were about a km off shore.

1 guy did get a nice smb. Pretty fish.

north winds, storm coming from east coast FEESH ON, MARKING LOTS OF FISH AS SHALLOW AS 40FT OFF WESTERN RIVER MOUTH, THE ODD FISH IS BEING CAUGHT OFF SHORE, SUPER EARLY IN DAY OR JUST BEFORE AND AFTER DARK, OFFSHORE WINDS ARE NOW FAVOURABLE FOR PUSHING FISH INWARDS.

Quick question guys. When you refer to north winds, does that mean winds blowing to the north or winds blowing from the north? Right now the forecast shows winds blowing north to south.

a north wind (from the north) will push colder river water out into the lake triggering fish movement. when water temperatures are lower in spring and late fall winter, a south wind will push baitfish and salmonids into rivermouths. south and north winds can both be favorable depending on time and water temperature. the opposite is true on the northern end where a north wind will push baitfish in and a south wind will push river water out into Georgian bay or lake huron.

Nice Beman9010! I tried a west side trip last night on my yak and nothing.
Fish don't seem to be active in this current soupy (70+f) water - or maybe this is the only rationale I have for my skunk night

My friend did same thing they were all mixed together chucking spoons and trolling he was pissed when we went last night and they couldn't cast worth a darn lol. Told him watch next time look make sure.

Meet a guy last night with a tiny bass rod, 3lbs line and a soft bass bait lure thing on the end trying to catch the splashing salmon at the boat lunch. I spent 10 minutes with him and gave him some pointers on the proper gear needed for these monsters.

I've turned off my hot water tank at home because I'm now taking my baths when I go down to the pier!
Water temps are a comfortable 24°C - just the way I like it :mrgreen:

You would be surprised just how many people catch Musky on such delicate line. It seems like Musky just don't have to power to break light lines as long as u know how to fight it. Lol. :mrgreen: So people wha do you think about this years Salmon run so far?

I have caught a 44" Musky on 6lb floro and lb Power Pro while trolling for Walleye! Heck of a fight, just need to take your time and be delicate where possible!

Salmon so far have been great, I haven't had any luck off the Piers, but the Rivers are growing more abundant with Salmon each cold night we have! :mrgreen:
