im in a small community that has no buses that go to london, i have no car and no bike. iv been searching for a job for over a year and put in close to 100 resumes at various places. i even stooped so low as to put one in at mcdonalds and nobody is hiring.

at the same time im in school, and nobody hires students.
If you have a goal, landing a job is easy, just don't be picky. I just quit my 2nd job only because I'm sick and tire of the BS that's going on in that co.(retail). And I bet you i can land a job in walmart if I needed to. I used to collect carts for home depot earning 11/hr.it's not a lot but it pays for the car & auto insurance and my smokes (this was when I was smoking).

Being a keener never worked so well before. Agree completely but even the littlest of jobs you gotta show that you want that ONE job. Funny how the world works but you do what you gotta do to fill the tackle box :p

Dusty, all small towns have bars. They hire people to do general labour. By labour I mean mopping puke, changing kegs, clearing tables, sweeping broken bottles and other b!tch work. It is a horrible job, but that's how I survived going to school in a small town.

Back to smoking... quit 11 years ago. Cold turkey. It sucked at the time, but now wonder why I smoked in the first place. *shrug*

Quit because it dawned on me that I was just a cigarette puffing cash cow in the eyes of Big Tobacco who does not give two damns about me or the people around me. Only the cash in my pocket. It sickened me to the core to think there were a bunch of psychopathic Armani wearing d-bags at Philip Morris laughing around a board table at how stupid I was and how easy it was to separate me from my cash.

thanks for all your input but yea iv done alot of that. more that half of my resumes went to bars and resturants. its hard to explain my situation but just take my word for it.....iv tried.

bottom line. looking for work is a job in itself.

Yrs ago I painted a friend's home and what started as a couple of rooms ended up being the entire interior. That led to some of his friends asking who did the work which led to more work for me. It just snowballed from there. It was a busy summer.

You should have someone look over your resume, preferably someone that has proficiency in English, if you haven't done so already. I say this because I had a manager who would skip a resume if they saw spelling and formattting mistakes. I asked him why and he reasoned that someone who won't double/triple check their work will not be a very good asset in regards to attention to detail.

Hope this helps!

well, it seems everyone will benefit from Dusty landing a job. He gets paid, saves his moneys (except for tackle of course), able to get a decent vehicle, able to fish areas he normally can't get to on foot, and we get to see fish porn....go for it Dusty.

bahahaha it brings nothing but happiness to my heart to see people helping me.

yea i did my uncle when to school for literally just making resumes for a month. it was a side course after completing graphic design. so he looked at it and almost made it for me. i did everything from proper grammar to making the resume some easy to read and not just a blur of words.

theres a reason why the "job" subject arouse when it came to the elections.
lol when i lived in mexico the first ad i phoned i didnt even bring in a resume. i phoned and told me to come in for a interview. but here.... its not just a bit of work its a competition to see who can land a job.
especially since the majority of people here are on welfare and looking for jobs too.......

back to the topic. bottom line smoking kills.......

Matter of fact, every time I light up I get a strike and reel one in, when I’m not smoking I get less strikes, go figure!!!

OK, now we know who the smokers and non smokers are. My question is who likes to bring the odd "POP" out when fishing :???:

no pops when I salmon / trout fish. I drive 3-4hrs to get there. Sometimes I don't spend the night so I stay sober. I find its more enjoyable.

Other fishing. Sometimes but not often.

I had to tell off a group of guys wading and throwing their butts in the river, these disgraces shouldn't be allowed to fish..
