I'm not a big fan of fishing for dropbacks.
So for opener, my main goal was to get some underwater photos. Unfortunately, the water was not as clear as I wanted it to be. It didn't help that it rained a bit in the late afternoon.

 
This fish was bright chrome. Fresh looking, but spawned-out without signs of wear and tear?

Also no freckles?

Spent more time in the air than the water...

man float_on that is a bright long lean steel,frozenfire nice shot even with the water color not ideal and chaisin tails nice salmons :cool:

i had one like that as well chrome torpedos i call em

The drop backs chrome back up before they head back to the lake. Surprising that it had no wounds though. Must have been an early spawener and its been putting the feed bag on for a while now.
 
Float_On that fish looks immature to me, probably never produced eggs to begin with, too young.
 
Like many species....

About 10-20% of the "teenagers" will come for the ride, looking for some premature action.
Little Voyeurs they are!

The fish was 25" long, and she did have a few eggs left in her...

It was the chromest (if thats a word) fish I landed all day so I decided to take her home, and their were a few eggs still remaining.
 
First steelhead this spirng from the North Shore. Only 99 more to go!
