for the most part yes, but in the great lakes some times they will travel upstream to spawn and or feed.
cool, do you think they would be in the trib that we met in 2 weeks ago or would a bigger trib be needed

i would be shocked to see a laker in there LOL for lake o theres not to many tribs that will hold lakers, but up north theres a few tribs where a couple lakers are caught every year. they are considered a very rare catch though its not like they make any sort of big spawning run like bows or salmon.

Small east Lake O trib, 2 years ago, 12lb laker was caught fairly far upstream. Can happen but rare.

I have seen one in the east. Just go to any port and fish deep, some bound to hang out around there.

The only pic I have holding a steelhead

oh ok cool, i know niagara gets that but its more of a large fast flowing lake than a river

Andrew...I want me some of them browns...did it hug bottom?
It didnt make any jumps, but it made plenty of runs.. happen to be in a strong current as well. Took at while to get her in. Everytime she was close she would make the longest run lol. Definitely an exciting fight.

for sure. very strong fish. fights just like a salmon...and beautiful...my favorite fish to catch...nice pics...
