Hey all,

With Trout season around the corner I thought I would drop a line and see if anyone could suggest any spots in the Durham Region area or close too? Look forward to your ideas.

Thanks

I doubt whether any one will give specific spots but any map will show rivers connected to Lake Ontario & they are the ones to concentrate your efforts on. Welcome to the forum !

Welcome to OFF. As you can see, asking for trout spot is a touchy topic. My advice, it to attend meet ups, make friends and ultimately, learn the best techniques to catch them...there are tons of trout spots (not only in Durham). You just got to find them.

I can understand people not wanting to give spots away especially to people who are lazy and won't do the leg work but rude and sarcastic comments like "burds fishing" is unnecessary just let the person know politely that they need to contribute....just saying nobody needs to be ridiculed for asking a simple question....to the OP, like everyone is saying if u contribute a little bit you well get plenty of info on where to fish...people spend a lot of time and effort to find their spots they are not just going to give them away

Just look at the regulations that list the open sections of river and fish there

Thanks for everyones help. Im an avid angler just was merely asking if rivers like the east etc were good runs. I should have been more specific. I will do the work as needed and understand the importance for input. Im not sure how much I can contribute to a forum about an area I have no clue about. I guess from everyones input east have good runs.

Again you are being politely asked to, STOP NAMING THE DAMN CREEKS AND RIVERS !
- everyone knows if you want the runs that much, just eat more fast food ....

Alright so there's another thread on here about the north its regs and conditions and that's all cool but it takes how many guys here to pile on and drag the guy through the coals. I would have taken one guy to simply and polity inform him of the rules and maybe throw him a pm of some spots if he was nice. Happens over and over here, some guy asks about info on some stagnant water trough and it turns into the hottest thread in months

east both get runs of rainbows in the spring but not as big as the west

Welcome to the forum Dickson23s.There is lots of great trout fishing to be had in Durham (and many an opinion to be had here on the forum!).. all along the north shore of lake ontario there is phenomenal fishing. You can use google maps and look at any trib, major or minor, and it could get a decent run of fish. many of the headwaters of larger systems have good resident trout fishing as spring moves to summer. good luck, and welcome!

Welcome Dickson23s. Nothing beats getting out and trying different spots, especially quiet, out-of-the-way places. Last year I tried a creek near my home, hoping to get into some brook trout. I didn't catch any, but I found a wonderful, quiet spot to take my kids fishing for creek chubs.
