The sizes for the BPS brand were really awkward. I tried every size they carried and i was in between a MS and S. (For me, MS was too big and S was way too tight). The one I got that day was MS and it was really loose. Read reviews that if waders are too baggy, they will rub in between the legs and weaken the seam, eventually leading to a leak. The breathable material was really thin and it just didn't feel like it would last me too long before something wrong would happen. Price of the BPS waders were 139.99 and the white river matching boots were 99.99. Together, after taxes and all, it came out to be about $270. Too much IMO... might as well spend a few more bucks and get the best brand.
The Simms I picked up were medium size and the inseam and chest measurements fit me great! Not baggy at all! With two pairs of socks and layers of pants, the waders should fit nicely. The material is a lot more durable and thicker. Definitely looks like they will last a lot longer than any other waders I've seen. Plus, each set of Simms waders are water tested before being sent out... can't say the same for BPS. Even the BPS employees told me to keep my receipt, because I will have a 1 year warranty... and I'll probably need to use it!
The Simms Freestone stockingfoots I picked up were 199 USD, after exchange came out to be about 220 or so. Free shipping. Sweet present from my GF
. I could be wrong, but I think BPS charges 250 for the Simms freestone before tax.
After I pick up some boots, I will be hitting the rivers as much as I can.
Efka, what waders do you use?
