So back to the topic, I prefer a vest, found a pack just didnt "sit" right on me. I use a Simms vest and love it .
Hmm.. I guess I'll just have to try it then. I imagine the capacity is much more limited than a vest (considering you wouldn't want a huge sling pack or anything)?

Madoc look at the new simms one I posted a link to on this thread it's amazing I was not big in to the sling pack until I saw the preview for this

Thanks Mad - I'm not too huge on the simms bag to be honest...

I want this one:

Smith Fly makes one of the only things close to a 100% waterproof DSLR pack I have seen, and they include it in this waist pack. Only thing is they're always super back ordered.

I would also love the Patagonia storm front hip pack!

Ya I have seen them before there sweet there are so many choices to go for when it comes to carry systems I like the Patagonia sling pack as well only reason I'm going with Simms is becaus they redesigned a lot of there packs and there sling pack is out of this world functional and is finally a true sling pack

The simms hippack that I have is really great. its big, so lots of storage, but I dont find its too big that it interferes with anything (walking, casting). It sits on my backside and when I need something I just sling it around. The top of the pack acts as a little table, there is even a grooved edge so that if I drop something while I'm re rigging, it doesnt fall in the water or on the ground.

i have plenty of cushion back there so I dont notice it bouncing around when I'm walking lol ;)

got this last year. now it's on sale...only use this when i go light with just a small pack of spinners & plugs. then sammich & bottle of water.

Looks like a big bag to carry when youre packing light....lol love the idea of a sammy though. Does your wife make it for ya? Lemme guess......mortadella

Sandwich storage is KEY... Alex and I thrive on PB and granola bars... and if we're feeling classy, we'll upgrade to PB&J :p

that is actually a pretty small bag and thin. PB&J...sometimes my 10yr old son makes grilled cheese sammich if he's going with me. but if i'm making it...whatever i can make in less than a minute works....
