Where to get a map?

BINGO!!!

That's the difference between "Fishing" on Big Lakes with all kinds of different Fish that you can Target and Rivers or "Tribs" with One, maybe Two types of Fish.

Muskie, Pike, even Large and Smallmouth Bass are all Classified as "Predators" and they're gonna go/be wherever the Heck they want to.

Here Today, Over There Tomorrow. A guy that taught me a lot about Pike Fishing ...I asked him one day..... "So where's the best Pike Spots?"... "Out There." as he waved his arm and covered the entire Lake.

Yep, and if you go out there on a 'hot spot' and whistle in the boat you'd be better off staying home!!

And the funny thing is that you could post GPS co-ords of where you aught a bunch of fish and what lures or bait you were using, then others could go out when conditions were different and get totally skunked!!! ( It's called fishing, not catching.)

That's not what I am after. I know it's called fishing, not catching. I can fish a lake and catch fish. I just didn't know there was a wrong by trying to get one ahead before the trip? It's also called trying to get as much info on a lake as I can before driving 10 hours for a trip. It's called you would ask the same questions if you were in my position. It's called thanks for your help......I will put it to good use

Knuguy was just being helpful man, pointing out that there is often no harm in giving out tips because many things in fishing depend on variables other than location (such as temperature, water-level, sun/moon/cloud positioning).

Rice lake is huge, I haven't fished it but my best advice for tackling big water is: research the fish not the lake

You'll find like dozens of mini ecosystems in big lakes like that so you have to know how to take advantage of them during the proper hours/temp/time of day, month, and year. If you've already done this then you're a shoe-in.

Good luck!

That's quite smart. Never thought of that. Solid idea. I'd still want to know the structure in the lake though...

P.S - Did the video show up on your guy's screen?

Well my google must not have the same info because I have been looking for 2 weeks and haven't found anything like the previous 2 posts. If it does offend anyone then don't reply to this thread.........send me a PM and there is no issue. Thanks for the info too guys!

It might be because google looks at your location and bases it's searches from that... Glad we can be of some help. Don't worry about offending anyone, were pretty friendly... :D

I edited this post cause I didn't want to seem like I supported this guy and how he treats other members.

This is not a map but it might be of help: http://www.thefishinguide.com/rice-lake-fishing-ON.php
Ever do some walleye fishing?

This is an awesome website (I think), it has a map with really cool tips and things in the map: http://www.fishingwithpiotr.com/fishing-maps/rice-lake/

Yah Noob you're right knowing the layout is key. I forgot that fishnhunt was not able to find an overhead view on google. I have never looked at a bottom structure map for bass fishing before. I usually canoe so I stick to the shores, bays, drop offs etc...but I guess that's what separates the real deal lunker hunters from hit and run fishers like myself.

Sure did! This one is going on the playlist Noob, thanks!

I'm like you, I don't have a boat so I fish from the shore. I can only target fish with in casting distance from the shore, which means my days involve lots of moving. :D

Glad you like it.

A Total Waste of Time and Lack Of Appreciation!

YOU ask. WE Respond. YOU don't like what YOU Get.

What MORE could we have supplied for you??

"Attitude" is a Polite way of putting it.

I'm outta here!

He asked for a map. I gave him a link to one that was free. He didn't seem to appreciate that one bit but instead hose to misinterpret what I said in my second post.

Welcome to the club. Nothing I provided seem to please Him either. Yet it's EXACTLY what he said he wanted.

Go Figure! I think he has a Problem Reading & Comprehension.

If this guy is trolling he gets an A. I've enjoyed the exchange nonetheless thx to the helpful info provided by everyone.

Well I'm pleased that some of you got some good info from the site and Generally a Lot of GOOD Conversation here on FISHING!

I think this was the first post in a long time where the fishing and links and maps and stuff actually got talked about... Some of the techniques you guys shared will help me a ton in 130 days... :D (Thanks AA)

HOWEVER! I just got another PM from "fishnhunt". Why he doesn't post them on here, I have no idea.
Cause he doesn't understand the help you gave him or he doesn't know how to be grateful for the effort you and others put in. I'd be ashamed of my self if I were him.

He was NOT pleased with the Links even though I thought I was supplying him with Exactly what he was looking and ASKING for. Also did NOT even bother to check them out.
The links were awesome. Tony's fishing page has tons of stuff about rice lake, I took his walleye and crappie maps, as well as a few species specific technique articles.

I'm outta here!
If anyone's leaving it's fishnhunt, cause I for one am not helping him. Don't get frustrated over some guy sitting behind a computer who is soo out of touch he doesn't want to be thankful for the help.
