    Salmon

The smell and erratic action of a live creek chub probably gives it a significant advantage over a lot of the baits that people drift

    Atlantics

High water temps can reduce the survival rate of fish along with the effectiveness of catch and release, but it doesn’t seem to prevent salmonids from migrating and completing spawning runs. This is something that we’ve seen for decades with the Chinook salmon here. Given the low catch-rate...

    Atlantics

The prospect of having a decent Atlantic salmon population is more exciting if one understands the opportunity that it creates for shore fisherman during the Summer. Other species of migrating salmonids have overlapping runs, and are almost completely absent from rivers and areas near shore...

    Atlantics

The reports collected by the CRAA indicate that they were quite a few, with some of the largest ones not seen at Streetsville. But even such larger numbers are not any good if they’re not able to naturalize. Given the lower returns in the subsequent years, I don’t think they’ve naturalized...

    Atlantics

The numbers listed there are for adults captured and transferred at the Streetsville dam. The entire run of adult Atlantics on the Credit was a lot higher based the report data gathered by the CRAA. There were enough seen and caught that summer that it made it seem like the program was a...

    Atlantics

The program’s history shows that they can get more returns with larger amounts of stocking, but even with hundreds of adults returning to a single tributary (e.g. Credit River in Summer of 2011), they’re not able to establish a natural population. Interestingly, their top biologists don’t...

    Atlantics

The Atlantic salmon stocking program is part of the OMNR’s agenda to protect native species; the money that’s allocated for it isn’t to improve Ontario’s sport fishing. Other species of migratory fish can benefit from the stream rehabilitation and other work that’s been done to assist...

    Snagged Fish

Keeping the length of line underneath a float shorter than the depth of water significantly reduces the odds of flossing or snagging.

    Salmon Kwikfish Bite

Trout and salmon can bite lures on their spawning beds, but it might not be a good idea to catch them that way in locations where they naturally reproduce.

    Jail Time or Major Fines

I didn't say they don't bite. I'm saying the majority of hookups that I've seen on small streams in the fall are due to flossing. This is something that I've payed very close attention to. It's worth noting that sometimes it's impossible to tell if the fish really bit or not when using long...

    Jail Time or Major Fines

The vast majority of people snagging salmon on the body get away with it. Here's where it gets really interesting though: most salmon hooked in or on the mouth upstream of the lake are flossed, meaning that nearly everyone who fishes for salmon in small streams around the Great Lakes is snagging...

    fishing heart lake ?

You should be doing research instead of simply asking on a forum. It's not hard to find the information that you're seeking.

    fishing heart lake ?

The main species there are largemouth bass, rock bass, black crappie, sunfish, catfish and stocked rainbow trout. The management there doesn't allow the use of bait fish.
