Ok. Just refreshed myself on Zone 16 regs: looks like Atlantics are closed year round. Never ran into this myself so it is a good time to get educated.
Basically, no targeting them and if you do hook up, quick ASAP releases. Another reason for a good trout net and best C&R practices if you are fishing stretches where the MNR truck made a drop off of Atlantics.
Needless to say, they are pretty fish and do share the same habitat as the grand stream prize, the brook trout.
Don't be afraid to fish those waters with single-pinched barbed hooks on spinners. They are the most C&R friendly baits and work solid if you fish them right... and don't forget to check the special notes in the regs: the Upper Credit area is single-barbless-artifical-bait only... no worms.
