this will absolutely be tough to beat, but still doable, congrats on the new PB and i may try and land a few more monster lunkers from my spot, these babies from there may produce lower 30's ive seen some with alot of potential, although the first thing i may need is a trusty digital scale, should find me one of those

On the fly! Was hunting trout but saw them in a small pool so I tried for them.

He tried to gobble up the fly but spit it out too quickly just as I tried to set the hook and I foul hooked him :( still brought him in and took a pic.. Does he count as my first?!

i like that okuma SLV is that a 7/8 also? and yes, that counts as a first, as long as he took your fly,

Geeeezus....what a fish!! I usually end up 2 handing the net when it's a Carp (so that I don't break the plastic)

Lift it vertical brother! But you already know that, I really need an extra hand landing fish specially on my dinky folding net made by frabill

Ontarios record still stands at 38 and 39 lbs from two different mnr and government sites. I hope to best this someday =)
Those records have been passed time and time again, every year people catch 40lb + carp from lake ontario. hamilton hardbour etc. A member of this forum caught a 41lb and change in March this year in the toronto harbourfront.

If this is indeed true, then why haven't these catches been reflected on government websites? Is it because the catchers keep it to themselves and on forums?

I bet there are 40's in lake Ontario, but seeing is believing for me. If I can't find anything other than 39lb through an in depth Google search for record commons in Ontario, then that's the number to beat!

Cause what else is there to go by...

Reason being, the serious carp anglers who catch them are strictly catch and release. They release the fish after weighing and photos. To post a record, you must bring the fish in for weight on government scales etc etc which normally means the fish must die. I know many many people that have caught 40lbrs, happens all the time.
