Very nice. I used to get the pompoms from Michael's and would cost 4 times as much. Do the Dollarama have a hard core like Michael's. It was a nightmare getting the hook thru. Thanks for the tip.
 
I went to my local dollar store, I got 9 inline spinners and 2 crankbaits. One crank bait got lost when I casted leaving me just the eye of the lure. The other one I was using in some cover (tree branches) and it hit a branch bounced off and broke. The hooks are crap on all of them I can bend em with my hands, like NADO said. But the spinners seem to give off good vibrations ;)

These are hands-down my favorite little snips/scissors. They make excellent line snips and are dexterous and have tight tolerance to make them a must have in the tackle box or pack. These things are at least 15 bucks anywhere else, when I stumbled upon them at Dollarama for 3 bucks I bought half a dozen.

There are quite small despite how they look in the photo.

I swear by the tiny pink "craft/sewing" scissors available at The Dollar Tree for $1.25. Everything I could ask for in a small pair of fishing scissors, namely small, cheap, and sharp. I recently picked up two pairs.

The Dollar Tree in Orangeville has 900 yds of 6lb line for $1.25. They have other strength line too. I bought 2 rolls but have yet to test the quality of the line.

I've been using mostly dollar store spoons lately, I am addicted to them. I lost a Mepps Aglia today and I'm just not used to losing expensive lures anymore. I also lost a top water frog which I hope to retrieve tomorrow.

Klamp What section did you find them in, with the fishing lures? I would never expect a brand like Fiskars in Dollarama.

Thanks I'll keep my eyes open for them.

They we scattered throughout the store, as if someone changed their mind and ditched them. If you don't find any let me know, I have a few to spare.

I got 1 Dollar Tree near me and this one had nothing for fishing. Maybe their stock is slow to arrive. Do you have a fish scale you can test the line with? I'd love to know if it's decent line. Daryl Chronzy always says that the cheap lines are made of recycled old pop bottles, I wonder if he is right, of course he is going to be pushing his sponser's product not Dollarama....lol.
 
So I went to a Dollarama to check out it's stock. I saw in one post where some guys are using glowing Cleos for salmon. Well take a look at what I found, I put a quarter there to show the size of the frickin lure, it's huge......lol. Well there is a lazer light that comes on once it's in the water. It's pointed at the plastic body and flashes, does not stay on all the time. Anyone think this is gonna work on salmon or other species? I've attracted fish with a lazer but this, I'd like anyone's opinion.

Look at this frog......where the hell are the spots? Too cheap to put them on?.......lol. I'm gonna put my own on with a cd marker. It's good shape for $2 why not. I think the Arbogast is like $5.

Oh yeah, last week I bought 2 packs of inline spinners. Not bad 2 for $1. The split rings don't look good but the hooks seem ok till I get the big one on.......lol. :eek:

They have 2 color frogs this naked green one and a orange one. This thing has red eyes, what wit tat?..........lol. And only one spot....lol. Now I can't even find my cd marker to make more spots :blink: . What about that lazer fish? You think it's gonna work? Or burn the fish's retina and totally miss it?.........lol. :shock:
 
Was it a Scarborough Dollarama with the frogs?

I went to a few new Dollaramas this week and I was thoroughly impressed with the fishing section at some of them. They are even carrying decent line now, not nearly as cheap as Dollar Tree's mono though! Other than rod and reel, I could honestly buy all my gear there. Spoons and spinners for pike, bass, walleye, etc., and spinners and hooks for trout.

Yes in Scarb the one in Eglinton Town Center, I think that's what they named it. There's a CT and the movie theater there, right next to Imperial Buffet.

Actually I did at one time see a telescopic rod there, maybe last year or the year before. I've never liked telescopics so did not give it a second glance. But ya most of your gear could be from them. Humm, maybe if you won a tourney with their stuff they would sponser you.....or me....... :eek:
