Body looks good, tail's a few fibres too heavy, while it is acceptable to have 1 or 2 wraps of thread under the tail to prop it up you have a lot under it. Also, don't cut the legs, measure them beforehand so you are left with only what you need. That said that fly will still catch fish!

the exposed underwrap was me not starting the body far enough back, for the legs, the video i watched said to bend back the excess from the wing case and trim to the length of the hook shank

There are a lot of tyers out there, they all have different styles. Since you're starting out I'm going to say, only watch videos from tightline productions and davie mcphail, Hans Weilenmann is another great tyer. In general you NEVER want to cut natural fibres, bucktail, marabou, calf tail, pheasant, just don't do it, although it may look ok in the water it's just sloppy work.

I like this one better, shorten the legs by half and try and make the head a little smaller and it'll look great! Also, if you have a brown sharpie around colour up that thread before finishing.

chase if you like i will show you how to tie this little red number..and yyes i cut the tail--thats how i roll
