tried it a bunch at the CW didnt work to well......but maybe in a freestone creek instead of one with claybanks i know where you hit that fish lol have you ever tried the one further down the road?

I was at the last hole you can fish before the sanctuary, I knew you'd know that spot for sure! Yah there's an amazing set of runs and pools from the sod fields down towards town. I did really well in there three weeks ago.

Went out before work  Hit on the trout bead. Gotta love those things, they work like magic! Gave a nice fight too.

lol .....yeah its gonna be a sad day when he finally sells that place he put lots of work into it. hope the next owners are half as generous as he is, but with the group of guys that fish there should be no problem you dont even see a cigarrette butt on the ground and that how it should be EVERYWHERE. with the crap you see along the 401 its surprising they let anyone with a fishing rod within 100 yrds of a creek.

Oh how I love our great lakes tribs! I had one of my better fall steelheading days yesterday, I went 12/20+. Broke off a lot of fish, I was running a very light leader and am still getting used to my pin. I'm starting to get into the habit of really judging the river before I set my line up, water was gin clear, and low, but we still picked up a few fish in skinny fast water. It's funny to think about how many fish we've probably almost stepped on wading through fast runs and just never known they were there. Also another successful discusion with a land owner, who gave myself and my two friends permission to access the river through his property, and he has THE nicest pool I have seen on that trib yet. On a more sour note, I was so flabbergasted with all the garbage where we parked. My friend said they used to fish up river from where we went in but there's no trespassing signs everywhere now. So naturally we spent 30 minutes filling three garbage bags. Please please please clean up after yourselves, and after other people if need be, this thing we all love so much is going to be ruined by the hands of our "fellow" anglers!

Hi guys. Another weekend in the record books. This fall has been an incredible ride, I've seen and caught more steelhead ,especially those memorable ones. The consistancy of quality fish and those jumpers who always make my heart race. As we stood waste deep in the river on Sunday , the rain falling and our hands all white and puckered , drifting for 10 minutes and then as if the fish materialized in the rain ... it started - fish ! Literally - 15 drifts = 15 fish , not all landed mind you. It was a fresh run , all in the 6 - 10 lb. range , snow white bellies and chrome on top and then it suddenly stops as it suddenly started .... I LOVE IT !!! This time the roe bag was on top of the menu board , but only in chartreuse . Only one with a worm . Back tracking now , on Saturday we went for a 20 minute excursion to check out a new area to wet a line . Lots of walking but plenty rewards , deep pools and lotsa logs , I was drifting just outside a log and the float disappeared , set the hook and all hell broke loose , a hen in the high teens ... and ... she snapped me clean ... but ... It was exciting . Pictures to follow soon ...
