I've tried the Mr. Twister White ones also and Yellow. Never had much, if any luck with them. My Favourite is "Chartreuse" gets a lot of action, also Black is good. 3" or 4".

I always use the Jig Head (Yellow is My Favorite) and Spinner with them as you asked. Pics below from Le Barons and Mr. Twister Site.

Thanks. You would work the lure like a spinner bait, right?

I haven't done much "Whacky Rig" fishing. Some conversation here about weight or no weight.

I forget where the Pic below came from but it seems like a good idea. You could use as much or as little weight as you want. They're just "Finishing Nails" that you snip to size, before you go, or on the water. In the ends like that they MIGHT (Never tried it) add to the "Fluttering" of the worm. Worth a try.
You should try the wacky rig a few more times. On a day where they don't want to chase down a fast moving bait, it excels.

Now that I just typed that, actually you could do that to weight ANY Worm Rig or Soft Bait.

Rick

PS:

I started organizing some of my Fishing Pictures on here a couple of weeks ago. I try and keep a basic Record with the Pic. This one was caught last year at a friends cottage.

Exactly the Rig as Explained above.

Nice bass. From all your pictures of bass caught, I'm gonna try a spinner, jug combo! Thanks.

It's strange I've had some luck with the white Mr T but not yellow. And Black, forget it all I ever get is rock bass.....lol. Seems like anything in black gets rock bass.
It's got to be in the action from the angler. Put 2 guys on a lake with the same Mr T's and one will out catch the other. Even if they are rigged identical, the action one guy adds will attract more fish then the other guy who does a straight retrieve.
It really boils down to learning how to use the lure in a way that the fish will take it. Some lures you cast and burn back. Other times you want to disturb the bottom or just let it sit on the bottom and let the current make tiny movements. Have to try all different types of action till you find the right one, then you''ve "dialed it in". That's what I've found.
I have'nt had the chance to try whacky rig, I have the hooks and worms, just never tried yet.

Back to the topic of live bait, has anyone ever caught leeches or hellgrammites, or even used them. I've used leeches once and nothing. Google make your own leech trap. Last year was the first time I ever seen a bait store sell Hellgrammites, they were sold out but these are suppose to be deadly for bass. I'm trying to find a fly pattern for the hell and tie one up. Hell's don't swim, they just crawl along the bottom. But I'm thinking to cast, drop, crawl and retreive.

I'll also try my alabama rig this year too. I made it out of a dollar store wisk......lol.
Nice bass Fish. Thanks for the Lebaron pics.

I wacky rig all the time! Try it out, in the shallows, letting it sink in deep water take too long for me! :D

Make sure you got a rod "heavy" enough before you cast that sucker.
