This Largemouth Bass belongs to the Too Good Pond regions. I wasn't expecting a Bass anymore, but they are still in there. You need to have a lot of patience at Too Good Pond. It's heavily overfished and it's not stormwater. It's river water. But the water is still brown. And alot of people eat Too Good Pond fish. It's in the fish eating guide. The meat tasted like deep mud, i ended up tossing it after I cooked it.

I guess what i' am trying to say is that there is fish to catch in Markham for fun, and they aren't good for eating... but if you practice catch and release they can grow up to be very large fish for recreational fishing purposes... and that would remove angling pressure off of Lakes like Lake Scugog.

Secret: I need 1000 posts to become a Largemouth Bass from a Sunfish LOL... so I'm trying to earn that by being constructive...

I regret to inform you... that this is the end... unless somebody has evidence that they beat my personal 11 inch LMB record, 11 inch Black Crappie record, 11.5 inch Catfish (I caught a bigger one but it flopped off lol, no measurement, doesn't count), 20 inch Carp record, or 27 inch trout record in Markham [MARKHAM ONLY], I will not be fishing much anymore... I have other things to do nowadays...

Sidenote: It's a length competition, not a mass competition. OFAH rules.

You seem to advise people over and over again not to eat Markham fish yet many of your pictures indicate fish harvest as well as you stating taking 2 fish home, trying them and tossing the meat after them tasting very bad. Maybe it is best to practice what you preach.

As far as your length competition. There are much bigger bass in markham.

I salute your efforts to inform and educate but I think it can be done in a better way, and in far less posts.

Large Bass in Markham are extremely hard to come by so I would appreciate it if you do not harvest the large ones at least, as well if you find a pond that can consistently produce good bass I would encourage you to keep the location to yourself, it doesn't take much to destroy a pond.

Hope I didn't come off as rude, that is the last thing I want, just thought I'd offer my opinion.

Cheers!

To clarify, I advise people to not eat the fish from the storm water pond. Now the two fish, one being the bass and the other being the crappie was from Too Good Pond and the Rouge River respectively. These are not storm water ponds, the waters used to be crystal clear many years ago. However, now the waters are a deep brown colour. People used to eat from these sources, and the fish eating guides includes these locations. However, I discovered that Lake Ontario fish can swim up the rouge and enter Too Good Pond. Futhermore, these two fish I examined, was not suitable for eating after I cleaned it and prepared for cooking. I tasted a little bit and knew that the water was not clean. In conclusion, I would not advise harvesting any fish in Markham for food. So what I told you was correct, in every point of view.

The purpose that I would advise against not eating fish is simply because I don't want to see people get sick from eating dirty fish and of course, like you said, I do not want to see the pond destroyed. Unlike a Lake, the pond dies much quicker. Unfortunately, people have been eating these fish at a fast rate, and it's illegal. And again, I would advise against eating these fish based on the results of the Swan Lake Park study, which concluded the pond was unsafe for eating. Assuming that all other ponds are less in volume, I can only imagine the amount of pollutants would be even more concentrated.

And no, I enjoy conversation and did not find you as rude.

AND Of course, Practice Catch and Release of the Large Mouth Bass. They take several years 4-6 to reach 12 inches.

And I have good news, all those stormwater fish were catch and released, I take measurements and pictures and release them. People that eat them kind of just put them in the bag and eat them without taking pictures... that bass with the plastic bag wasn't mines, it was harvested by a china man. I couldn't stop him from keeping it, regrettably.

HEADS UP: Police occasionally will check for fishing license at BERCY PARK. Have it ready and follow all Zone 16 rules and you will be fine. Or else you will be fined... LOL. Don't eat fish or fined $5000...

I LOVE YOU CANADIANS ALREADY!!!!!! But you still haven't answered my question.... What is the exact location that you caught that LMB beside the Please Do Not Litter sign. I' am one of the 9 btw..

I read Lord's profile, He hasn't caught a Micropterus Dolomieu in his country yet. I believe your bass just set the record for the city.

Anybody know which of the Markham ponds are good?
I know of some good ponds but they are all pressured meaning that a lot of people fish there and not all of them catch and release (please always catch and release so other people can enjoy fishing
there)
One pond is Too-good pond in Markham which has sunfish, catfish and carp, some bass, some pike, and some trout

Another pond/dam is Milne dam also in Markham which has a variety of fish like catfish and carp and some bass and trout.
