No kill zones on the Credit and Grand

As originally stated the situation was completely hypothetical. I was looking at the regs last week and this is what raised the question in my mind. I phoned the MNR on 3 occasions and talked to 3 different people and not one of them was sure about what to do in that situation, which is why I decided to pose the question here. And then upon getting some responces I decided to play " devils advocate " to see what would happen. 2 of the 3 people I talked to at the MNR said and I quote, " that's a gray area." Clearly a C.O. catching you coming out of there with any fish would charge you, in my mind. I strictly follow all the regs when I go fishing, I even have a copy with me at all times when I am fishing. The reason the question came to mind because I fish an area of the Goulais River near the Soo every year which is designated for fly fishing only ( not a no kill zone ) and I have hooked Specks that died there on barbless hooks. I only fish the Upper Credit once a year, at the end of Sept. so that is still to come. Not to long ago there was a one fish limit up there so that you could fish and release, but if you did hook one that was mortally wounded, you could keep it legally, say OK I've got a limit and leave without allowing the fish to float away down the stream.

Alfie.

I would have to agree with majority on this one, OP is trying to get some support for actions he did. When it comes to kill zones, the bottom line is you put the fish back in the water either it is alive or dead. And if one is so concerned about fish population and health in that area, find some other places to fish.
