Narrowed it down to a few, waiting to see which one I am able to obtain a bathymetry map for first.

One is all lakers, another is lakers and whitefish, another is lakers and bass (which are currently out of season).

But I do have one that I think will be the one I pick regardless.

Whoever wants to go, please send me a PM, and I will PM you the location tonight or tomorrow.

im in for haliburton i know my way around in that area, i know a couple good lakes that would be good in the muskoka/huntsville area as well, one of them has shallow water lakers/whities/big smelt/ling, the other has lakers/ling/whities.

how does December 7th sound? ice should be more then thick enough up there by then.
how thick are you expecting it to be by then....just walking or snowmobile or....

probably walking, possibly snowmobile, for north muskoka/huntsville, very possible that it will be safe enough for snowmobile, i personally have no snowmobile, so i don't care all i know is, nothing beats first ice whities!

that would be sweet to ice fish that early

i think it is possible, maybe not the bigger lakes, but i know a few small lakes and the area is getting -temps all week, so i won't be surprised, i might check it before the date, not sure, ounce some lakes start freezing, ill go check it out, i think maybe a bit later for the shallow water whitite but we shall see! i hope around that date we will at least have safe walking ice.

Guys in north bay are predicting 6 inches on small lakes by mid December. Lets make sure the lake isn't too small so we aren't shoulder to shoulder, and that way if a few guys want to take some fish it won't have much of an effect. I say a trout or walleye lake with panfish just incase.

the lake with shallow water whities is not very small, but maybe it would be smarter to do 2 ice outings one close to home like on simcoe for early ice perch, so that those who don't have an opportunity to drive far can still make it, later in the season i january, there is usually safe ice for cars on the lake with shallow water whities, what do you guys think?

well there supposed to be 4 days in the double digits in that area, hopefully the ice will be good by december 7th, but the temp is gonna go up again, then down then up again, lol, hopefully we get at least 4 inches, I've got my fingers crossed.

Hey guys Im down :D how about some area in bancroft there some lake in there that has lake trout open all year round and bunch of stock lake for brook trout.

bancroft meh, never liked that place lol, if you know how to catch them sure, but if its gonna be like that one time when i went with a local and we got 1 fish, then screw it, lol, whatever the majority decides thats what we can go with, I'm up for anything, but i still think whities up north would be better.
