Awesome photos Chris! You have a eye for photography! :D I love that shot of the bluegill and of course the Blanding's turtle, never heard of them before...
 
thanks fishingnoob,first time i saw that species of turtle and maybe last,i had to do some googling to confirm what it was,just knew it was different from the usual suspects i had been shooting.

Chris, this thread is by far my favorite thread in the lodge section and perhaps the entire forum.
 
some pics from a couple of different hikes at the nature park over the past week or so snapping turtle, dragon fly, catfish with young fish close and a blue jay :D

There is a great big old snapper at a pond near my house, and it has algae growing on it's shell, looks totally prehistoric and I also think of a native myth I read somewhere that the earth is really just one big turtle shell and I always think of that when I see this mini ecosystem growing on the turtle.

There's gonna be lots of catfish in that pond soon! :D
 
Got out to the nature park early aft :) , first time for awhile to do some hiking/photography.Some animals were around and i was able to get a few nice pics, the forest is really grown in thick now.While in the amongst the trees you can really feel the temp difference from the sun being shaded out, anyway here are some pics not fully open lilly flower,school of small fish,painted turtle,doe with fawn look close to see them both and a buck deer

Temps are nice today, north winds though so no fishing.Got out to the nature park, hiked around and took some photos.Here are a few i thought i would share

Man back to the hot and humid the last couple of days, went into the woods for some hiking/photograpy.Some of the leaves are already starting to hit the forest floor last couple of times out i noticed,Here are a few pics to look at from this afternoon bass,painted turtle,some pollinators,deer and bumble bee.

Damn, that previous shot of the catfish and young is super cool. Keep 'em rollin'!
 
well got out for a fall hike/photo combo,fishing has really stunk for me lately,have had other commitments right now so just haven't been able to hit the river so much chasing some bass,anyway here are a few shots from today older buck deer,younger buck deer,young deer,fall colors,fall colors,hawk up in the sticks and last a mallard duck having a snooze.

thanks fishingnoob, yeah that buck wouldn't budge and turn for a side shot,he just held his stance fro several minutes before i moved off and then went on his way.
