For opener I decided to try two different tributaries, one east one west. The fishing was pretty good and I tried roe bags for the first time. I ended up using every single one. The best producers for me were roe, beads and tots. All in all a great opener.

well done, and nice pics.
what colour are the eyes on that second bow in your second post ? did you catch her at 4:20pm

nice catches. I lost one tot yday and got skunked all day as i don't have roe and was using beads. today I lost #0 black fury. what lb. test was your line btw?

quite a haul rainbow, high water made the fishing a little tougher on aluminum river but they were around to bad i was duffing like crazy, lost 3 fish in three drifts at one point.

My line for swinging tots the past few months was 14lb test bass pro tourney tough. For float fishing I went with 12lb raven for mainline, 12lb seaguar for shotline and 7lb seaguar for leader.

that probably explains why i lost my lures. i was using 10lb. mono. only takes a jump or two and line snaps. dammit.

It happens every now and then I guess. Especially with large fish which are often known to attack hardware. I remember when I used lighter line I would lose a lot of my lures to steelhead, so last year I made the jump to 14lb test. I haven't gone back since.

lol i lost about 10 spoons from saturday to sunday. I was using 10lb mono mainline and 5.6lb fluro leader....with the leader I got SO many more hits...but line snaps out the butt. So i took off the leader and just used mainline...still snaps but not nearly as much.

was your line always breaking at the knot?
mine isn't at the knot. it was right between a tiny split shot & swivel. i will be re-spooling with a 15lb because i'm going hardcore...i mean hardware next time i'm in the water. i'm seeing salmon size trout where i am and i don't think 10lb will fair much against these beasts.

did you tie directly to the spoon or split ring or snap swivel etc.? I'm asking because it seems strange that you lost so many spoons
I tried both ways...I tied directly to the spoon ( the little ring )

and I also tied to a swivel that I put trough the ring. I honestly have no clue why either lol, once the line would snap...id reel it back in and find that it always snapped at the knot...

Maybe im using the wrong knot for fluro?
