it all depends on the seller. some sellers ship pretty fast. just bought an item from UK...got it after 7 days. it's not that bad. but i'm not sure about the quality of that reel though. you know the rapala classic drifter is selling like hotcakes $150...it must be that good.

doesnt matter bro as long as it doesnt rust your all good--don't believe the hype--maybe a nice bearing or two and you will be hero drifting with the best of them--a guy in here that doesnt use an imperial or a reel that costs more that the GNP of cuba catches more fish than most...

well beacuse its tiring reading about some guys post about his great day fly fishing and a pinner comes off and starts bad mouthing and vice versa, this is strictly for fun and i just wanna see what people think about it
well some people are strict fly and strict pin, they claim to be better than the latter, id just be a fun way to see if ones actually superior

Neither one is superior to the other !!!! They both have an advantage over the other is all situations but neither is better in all situations

spend an extra 50 bucks and get something that is decent from here. You can probably find a used classic drifter for 100 or an okuma reel for 150. I got my sheffield reel and rod on kijiji for 175 bucks and have been using it for three years now without issue. I put that reel through hell and back and its still spinning better than the day I bought it.

no i checked already made that mistake once, shipping is like 10 bucks which seems right
i may have a stanton up for sale in a bit, i know you know where i fish out east so we could throw down a deal?

sorry for post stealing (on my phone, no pm)

float fishing is popular in ontario river's because it works, the rainbows here are finicky and require a instant hook set and a stealth presentation. besides where are you going to really fly fish? few spots i fish have 50 feet of room to back cast and i dont know many that do, i dont consider fly fishing some one r doing 10 ft roll casts over and over again... now for resi browns a fly rod is more efficient for sure as you can strip fly's as well as be able to cast super delicate presentations. both have there advantages but for ontario, CENTERPIN

I don't even fly fish and I can do a 30' + roll cast. Other times you can cast your line so it is going up and down river and then shoot it out into the river after the last back cast. I'm a die hard pinner but its a goal of mine to get a steelhead on the fly.

you don't need space to fly fish...and you can easily roll cast as far as you like---there are also a ton of rivers where you can fully back cast---your just used to shoulder to shoulder synchronized casting lol--

I'll give it to the pinhead any day...(if only to stop them from trumpeting their multiple fish days...who the fawk cares...)...fish banked is not why fly guys do it FYI
Pick your rod gents and fish.
HOWEVER
Lets put this vacuous opining to bed once and for all shall we...
The olfactory receptors (nares) of a steelhead can discern sensory input that is 500-800 times more acute than that of humans
Throw BAIT of ANY description in the water and you'll get their attention for sure.

i guess ill have to wait then, 150 is the price of any 2 of my rods or my 1 shimano, 75 was stretching it

nothing wrong with floating with a spinning reel, a lot of guys started that way and many continue to fish that way. I've been schooled by many older guys using spinning or casting float set ups.
