Thanks for the input. Yep it would appear the Korkers are getting the most recommendation! Will be definitely checking them out.
I'm a little about the style also...and Korkers always seem to me to look a bit goofy...gottta look good on the water ya know... ;-)

Style is good if you're paid by the brand to promote their products aka Pro(motional)-Staff.

Otherwise, I look for quality, comfort and best product for the price. But I am a big Simms user and these Riverteks were my first major disappointment for one of their products particularly at the retail price that these wading boots are selling.

Pending good news. Looks like Simms wants to physically assess my Rivertek-BOA boots for a possible warranty replacement based on the seam/stitching issue.

Will keep post updated on the results from Simms.

That's great new Steel_Ed hope hey fully refund or replace your boots. Cost is too high to be replacing them often out of pocket when they should stand by their product.

oh-oh ...korkers korkers I can hear the chants
 I hear you loud and clear remy! My decision to replace the Riverteks will have to wait until I get an answer from Simms regarding the warranty claim.

Thanks Trini!!! Riverteks are enroute to Bozeman. Guessing I should get an answer from Simms to my claim within the next 2 weeks.

UPDATE #2: Looks likes Simms will be replacing my Rivertek-BOA wading boots.

Email I received from Simms stated that they are not 'repairable' and will be replaced under warranty even after 1-1/2 years.

Looking forward to my new Simms replacement wading boots.

You pay a bit (or a lot depending on your perspective) more for Simms but they definitely stand behind their products even after 150+ days of use!!!

Good on you for following up. Well looks like your ready to wear the new ones out. happy wading
Yeh thumbs up to another board member who suggested I contact Simms directly and thumbs down to the retailer who told me the boots were past their 12 months warranty and don't bother. Guess the retailer was trying to sell me another pair of boots and knows I will be back every 1-1/2 years for a replacement.

Also, do you mean 'wear the new ones out' as in wearing them for my next steelheading outing or did you mean 'WEAR the new ones out' like I did to my last pair?

Regardless, looks like my steelheading season is coming to a quick close with all of this warm weather and bows returning back to Lake O.

congrats, it's nice when a company stands behind their product and actually thinks of the consumer
Yep, Simms definitely impressed me when I was not expecting much in return because of my use of the boots.

I guess it's the reason why I stay with Simms for my gortex waders and wading jacket. Since this was my first ever warranty claim with Simms, I now have a higher regards for them when they say they stand behind their products.

Awesome Ed...little bit of leg work and a company that generally stands behind its products...good on ya
Thanks Chase. Glad my boots will remain Simms. Otherwise the highly recommended Korkers may clash with my Simms waders and jacket.

Reflecting back to what someone recently told me '...gottta look good on the water ya know... ;-) ' (aka post #21  )

Wear as in go out styling for the last of the chome. Come on you have to break those puppies out on a Bow. 😄

I hear ya! Last time I went steelheading about a week ago, I could see the suckers at the bottom of a 5' deep pool and swimming around were the bows. So I pinned for the steelies from shore and all I caught were anything but the bows. Ended up hooking into smallies instead!

Guessing that was a sign for me to put away my steelheading gear and get my summer fishing kit ready for the other species.

At least I will have a set of new boots for the start of the new season this fall. :D

Truethat. I hear you. FYI I got the same boots and love them to hell. No more trying to tie laces or stumbling to tighten them on the river plus as a bonus one quick click and there off. I no longer wear the guide boots as a result. :)
