what a waste of time, fishing was almost shoulder to shoulder on the bridge there, I started off spinning for pike, did the length of the bridge a few times and got bored, switched to worms/bobber but it was pretty slow, got a tiny perch and the smallest large mouth i've ever seen.

was pretty discouraging, so much garbage, people fishing, and people taking everything they caught, there was a guy there keeping the smallest bass imaginable, must have been 2-3 inches..

i've heard high park is bad

they should make these conservation areas/parks c & r only, better than having absolutely no fishery

Ya there is very little enforcement. Many people dont even consider the catch-and-keep limit on their fishing license.
Seen people with conservation license casually take 6-7 largemouths to eat, when their limit is 2. When I tell them not to do that, they just say thats its a 1 time thing so its fine.

I was there this past weekend. Hit the bridge and no bites nothing same with renting a boat. Not a single hit from the entire lake. Was pretty disapointed..

And I gave a guy crap for taking Bass that was that small. Needless to say he put it back after we had a friendly chat.

A few weekends before my dad caught this mother out of there..

Sorry about it being sideways. That thing put up one awesome fight. We did not keep it like most people would of done. Thats the fish that keeps the lake population going..

I cant stand people who think they can take all they want and it wont make a difference. Especially when theyre taking fish from an overfished lake like Valens. X2 for making it a C and R lake!

luckily valens is stocked---no natural --just gotta keep up the inventory and to the contrary I like that all the stupids go there and rape it...leaves the real spots for us--confine them like monkeys in all of the stocked parks...charge them for it and use money for real fishing resources////smart

It was like that in north carolina. No lisence was needed on piers so guys would come in and catch 1 or 2 3 inch croaker or spot and filet them. It's a wonder there is still fish out there.

THere should be a strong push to make Urban fishing site, or at least C.A all catch and release.. The issue is, who would be there to enforce the issue...

Thank you Stephen Harper... Thank you very much..! lol

You can make all the rules and regulations that you want but generally the assholes who would keep an < 1 lb bass will do it regardless of if you post signs telling them not to.

I've done it many times before and will do it any chance I get... take a fish right from someone and throw it back in the water. Only when it is obviously below regulation size or outside the species season.

What are they gonna fight me for a fish?
