Thanks for read grubman. I just cannot figure out why a small, select few anglers get their back up when they see someone else with a pole in the same area. It must go back to a neanderthal instinct some of us still have.

For a pole, a 7' med-heavy/fast tip is perfect for pitching/flipping and works for top-water/cranks/spinners too. Not sure how well it would lend to finesse setups. On the other hand you do not want to go light for pitching/flipping. May want to consider two poles and share a good quality 7:1...
