Simple answer is if you have a line in the water you are fishing. No need to have a hook on to define fishing. They set a limit of 4 hooks on a line but no minium # of hooks. If the area is closed to all fishing than don't throw in a line. BTW: Some species of fish can be caught without hooks...

Ensure it is well marked. Reflectors and glow sticks. Nothing will spoil your night faster than a snowmobile plowing thru your hut in the middle of the night.

In the reports I've seen nothing to indicate it was fishing related. 2 am? Still all the same it is sad news. RIP

Big Moose, Cozy Camp & Birch Hill are all in the same area but no where near Sure Strike Cabins. Perch, pike & walleye are in the area.

Lake Erie? Last year safe ice was almost not to be found. This year so far it is not looking much better. long Point Bay is generally your best option on Erie. Are you looking to use an operator or go out on your own? Mitchells Bay on Lake St. Clair could also be an option for you. Good Luck: Rick

On Simcoe Cooks Bay is usually the first to freeze with the area around Virginia Beach not far behind. I find the fish average slightly larger at Virginia Beach.
