    tried valens conservation area today

You can make all the rules and regulations that you want but generally the assholes who would keep an < 1 lb bass will do it regardless of if you post signs telling them not to. I've done it many times before and will do it any chance I get... take a fish right from someone and throw it back in...

    Trout Trolling up North

My lake is quite populated, that might help. Go out any day any time and catch at least 1. Most were caught at 15 to be honest and early evening Lake trout are also the dominant species in my lake. How far north are you?

Hit up The Grand this morning.

Afraid of a turtle? I don't care how big they are, no threat to a human unless you're picking a fight with them. Muskies are what I think about... but they won't attack a guy standing in a river... dangling your feet off a dock maybe different story, seen that before.

    Professors lake in august

Is it the one I told you to go to?

    Trout Trolling up North

Absolutely. I didn't take any offense... I'm abrasive by nature, so my reply may have seemed like offense was taken. This has gotten way out of hand since I last saw it. Like I said, I practice C & R 358 days a year (unless there is a week of ice fishing too) and I don't keep a fish from a lake...

    Professors lake in august

I got a lake that is only 15 from Professors, and allows boats. Messaged you.

Tried Kelso and Bellwood Lake - any other suggestions for a shore fishing with kids?

I've sent you a PM, took the wee one to a few of these spots this year... she enjoys it when she actually catches a fish... I can fish for weeks without a fish and still be happy... but at 8 years old different story :)

    Trout Trolling up North

Oh yes it motherfucking does! The thousands paid in property taxes every year means I'll keep any and every damn fish from that lake I want. I release my fish 358 days a year but that other week I keep enough to fill my limit, my girlfriends limit, my grandma's limit and anyone else who happens...

    Grenadier Pond fish dying.

LOL... this really isn't a laughing matter but kind of explain why I didn't even get a nibble yesterday. I had an all day training downtown on King St starting at 9am, 5 minutes away so I thought either sit in traffic for an hour and a half or leave an hour and a half early and do a bit of...

    Trout Trolling up North

Honest just varying with verrrrry little weights... General trolling depth with the mepps is 15 feet without a sinker I believe. It isn't often you catch a 9 person limit in 4 days... makes me wish we had rainbows instead of lakers... could have got twice the fish lol Ya that was is new to me...

    Trout Trolling up North

Was a successful week of fishing at the cottage with the folks all around, we all caught our limit and the wee one finally got a fish worth keeping and keeping her interestedin fishing! Haliburton area FTW! All fish were caught trolling between 15 and 40 feet, using rattlin raps, mepps and...

    Fishing from the fireplace

Ever get that feeling that you should cast out the rod? At the cottage, standing at the fireplace talking with my Dad and my girlfriend. About 10pm. Walked away in the middle of the conversation and grabbed my rod. Threw out my all time favorite hula popper and wha bam! Literally the second it...

    Check out these Golden Cows!

Hopefully you beat them with a stick and impaled their heads along the shore as a warning to other invasive species?

Multi purpose hula popper, good day of bassin

Really??? I'm pm'ing you about that, I used to have fantastic luck there but this year and last was (pike)skunked each of the 4 times I've been... though 2 were with my youngun so much of the time was spent not really fishing. I should really clarify few things... I'm not looking for tips or...

Multi purpose hula popper, good day of bassin

Though I won't just give away a spot publicly, PM is a different story and I'm definitely open to spot exchanging!!! I don't think spots should be hidden from everyone and I love sharing but when there are 1000+ guests at any time I'm not down for publicly outing them. I'm desperate to get some...

Beginner Fisher, not having much luck

Don't expect the fish to bite any time of day you want them to. My best fishing time for almost any species is between 5-7am, but then again consider weather, water conditions etc... Just saying starting to fish at noon isn't necessarily going to produce results for you in an already overfished...

We need to clean some GTA ponds.

Staffman - Do you sit on your front porch and shake your fist at the neighborhood kids? That was a bullshit statement that if both parents work the kids will have no respect for others. Welcome to the 21st century where often both parents CHOOSE and are not FORCED to work. It takes all of 5...

Boat in Haliburton area? Muskie? July 19?

Anyone (with a boat) going to be in the haliburton area around that weekend that wants to try for some muskie? I'll be up at my cottage the 18th - 25th this month and if anyone is up there that wants to I'd be more than happy to share some spots. If all else fails I'll strap a canoe on my car...
