are they up past the Rebecca st bridge yet?

Yea they are. I walked quite a ways up the creek and saw alot of dead ones and people who had caught some in the holes.

What always gets me is there are more males with their bellys cut open dead on shore then females. People really need to learn how to tell the difference. Its quite obvious lol.

Yes the fish are in the park, for the most part they are holding up past the bridge where its posted no fishing. But ive heard you are alloud to fish up there now? Thats where all the bows were caught. Standing on the concrete though i saw salmon after salmon swimming back and forth and seen a few bows following them. Im going to head out there tomorrow night this time prepared to float fish and hopefully get a few on teh line.
After reding this post, and thread I decided to go to Bronte, after a 15 yr. gap from my last time there! Used to fish there a lot!!!! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FISH ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE LAKESHORE BRIDGE!!! We went there tonight, and watched as 4 people were harrassed, and charged with trespassing by the OPP marine gestapo. You are allowed to fish under the bridge, at the break wall, or pier according to them. The people harrassed were basically 5 feet outside the bridge, and way within the area before the sign. We went up to the pier, where fish were jumping, but absolutely nothing was happening! I don't like pier fishing, so it will be a long time, if ever before I go back to Bronte! What a waste of time. We spoke to a couple of guys who tried the park, and they said you could see fish, in pools, but couldn't get them to take anything.

Just got back from Bronte petro can park. Landed 2 huge males and lost a bunch. saw at least 8 other salmon landed. and 1 female. Will post pics tomorrow

The images aren't showing up in my browser...maybe it's because of my Blackberry browser? I'll have to check on my computer at home later. Anyone else?

EDIT: nvm, the first image appeared (nice catch btw!), so it must be my mobile browser.

Naw it was the host i was useing to upload. switched them to my photobucket. all show show up now!

i was there allllll day today and saw like atlease 3 in each hole that were visible.
is it better to fish there at night or during the day time?

i only caught one today but that was way up where the carpool spot was

i went Saturday and went 0-3  lost 2 under the bridge and one huge fish at the piers... if anyone is going the next few days i suggest go to the park in the day but the piers at night.... just until we get enough rain to push the fish into the creek. give it a week or 2 and more fish will be in the creek

Were you just on the south side of the bridge, just at the edge of the marina? If so, I scouted that spot, and determined your chances of landing anything bigger than a guppie pretty slim! Bridge, docks, and tires held by chains were way too many obstacles for me!

OK, I got ya! No, you're not allowed to fish from the south side of the lakeshore bridge north.

South side is ok I believe but not the north side. The north side you will be charged with trespassing.

The water level is up quite a bit due to the heavy rain last night. The creek is roaring now compared to the last few weeks and the salmon are swimming up in pretty big numbers.

According to the 2010 Ontario fishing rules, and regulations guide, this section of the river IS OPEN to fishing, and the cops are wrong in charging people! Seems they need to read up on the laws they enforce!
Read the "Bronte Creek" section under the "Rainbow trout, brown trout, and pacific salmon extended fall season 4th Sat in Apr to Rec 31" section. http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/stdprodconsume ... 001335.pdf
Take thoe book with you, and have that section highlighted to show the cops if you get hasseled!

It's the town itself declaring that area as "No-Fishing", not a provincial sanctuary. That's why people are being charged with trespassing, it's a municipal park and they've declared nobody can fish in it.
It's a dubious regulation, but the NIMBY Oakville elite have spoken.

hmm... Thanks I'll probably head down there saturday or sunday

Way too late, water will be back down long before then. Lower Bronte is mostly clay, when it rains it flows hard and levels drop quick.
