I was at the creek today, and only caught chub. The water is down, and very clear. The fish are in pools, and very hard to catch. You need to be patient, watchful, and quiet. I was fishing a pool behind a log jam where there were a few fish. Some dummies came walking up behind the pool, up on the bank then back in to the water above the log, and muddied it up! The fish went under the logs, and held there for quite a while. I walked a long way today, saw some fish, saw a 2 rough salmon caught, and that was about it.

dwarf u go to that spot i told u. I was there today early in the morning got so wet landed only 2 slow day.Saw lotsa fish moving up. LoL one was running up the river. Water was so low he got stuck in the shallow almost died if i hadnt have picked him up and put him in deeper pool. Huge fish 2 over 25 pounds for sure i barley lift him up.

I was intending to go there, and before I knew it I drove right past the area! Stopped into the next parking area, and walked up river. Had to walk up quite a ways before fish were spotted. I landed 4 or 5 chub! Do they count? lol 8) I spent more time f'n around with that Berkley Vanish line which is on my reel than i care to talk about! That stuff is junk, and it's going to vanish right to the garbage can!

lol barkley is crap i use suffix or siglon. for salmon i run siglon 10 pound. suffix is bit stronger so u can easly run 8 pound.

I want a high visibility line which I can see easily. Saw a guy using some red Raven the other day, and that stuff I can see! I am more concerned with catching some trout now, and with the water being so clear a light weight leader is pretty much needed. A guy who caught a salmon, gave me some of the eggs, and I was chumming the hole I was in with it. Trout were going after the eggs, but only looked at my little roe bags. That tells me, they probably saw the 10lb line I'm using. After yesterdays rain, I figured the water would have been dirtier today.

I was at petro today and QEW. At petro I had a huge fish on under the rebbeca St bridge but right before my friend got a chance to net it swam for it's life back up the river... after about 10-15 minutes he's out 100 ft and gets in the shallows and near trees and gets off 8) ... i didn't see anything at the QEW?

That's 'cause there's nothing at the QE. They're further up! I hear there's quite a few holding in the hwy2 to Rebecca stretch. Need another good rain to bring them up! Either that, or they heard about all the snagger's and rippers in the park, and are just staying the hell out! 8)

Thats PetroRip park for ya! Where I was today was nothing but guys who like to fish, and enjoy nature! It was nice.

I have seen steelhead, about a week ago in a pool and this sunday I saw some on shore that were filleted... looked nice like 8lb each

I had one on last Thurs., guy beside me landed a huge one same day. Guy beside me on fri landed a nice one too. Saw one being chased by a salmon in a pool on Sunday, So ya, they're in there. It's up to you to find them though! Water is very clear!

The salmon are up pretty far near highway 5 and southword.but another run of them probably went up also so i would say check each bridge from rebbeca to Qew to the 5

Troutmaster I'm going to be in Annen this weekend, and heading down to Leith a couple of times. Is it worth my time, or should I be heading in behind the Y

Hey Troutmaster!!!! I sent you a PM telling you where to fish in Bronte, in that same PM I asked you where to go in Owen Sound, and you didn't respond. Then someone here publicly posted :p the same info i gave you in the PM, and you reply! I then publicly ask you again where to go in OS, and still no answer? WTF!!!!! I'm going to Annen to my wife's parents for the weekend.

Yeah, I was wondering the same. I was out in Bronte creek prov park on Sunday and walked and fished a pretty large stretch and saw no fish. Saw a few dead salmon though. The only real fish I did see were about 4 or 5 salmon and what looked to be a steelhead in a fairly deep pond, but the water level was so slow it was preventing them from swimming up any further.

Has anyone been see/catching any steelhead in Petro Canada Park? Or anyother stretch of the Bronte creek? I thought they may still be trapped closer to Rebecca bridge because the water level is so low and is preventing them from swimming up river.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
